Hello from the weekly Ballard Farmer's Market!  Shot for the Seattle Weekly.

 

 

Denise and Marc were married at Lake Union Cafe on Eastlake in Seattle.  From what I understand, these two were friends for a long time before anything romantic developed.  It took years of their friends telling them they were perfect for each other before they finally gave in and gave it a try.  Wouldn't ya know.. the friends were right on! Both are Native American and incorporated some beautiful native drumming and song into their ceremony.

This was my first time working with the fabulous make-up maven, Jenny Bowker (get thee to her site immediately!  ok, maybe wait till after the post, then mozy).

Quick outtake from my shoot with the band Ivan & Alyosha.

Mireya and Steele flew me out to Spokane for a day of exploring, eating, drinking and (oh yeah, the reason I came) photos.  It was a great opportunity to get to know them and by the evening I was bummed to be leaving my two new friends and their sweet Australian Shepherds, Chloe & Riley.  I am counting the days (98!) until their summer solstice weekend wedding in the Methow Valley.

the Catch & friends at Chop Suey!

3/4's of the Catch is reuniting for the biennial tradition of Disney Cover Night this Wednesday at Chop Suey.  Garrett Lunceford & Andrew Moore and joining me, Carly & Alissa for 4 or so songs (Amy is too busy with school to take this on right now, unfortunately). There is a bit of instrument / role juggling; I'm playing base on a song, tambourine on two others and singing one more.  My chops are a bit rusty, so don't expect much.  It's been awhile!

It's Seattle Peeps AND Pups this week for the Seattle Weekly slideshow.  I spent a few hours at my home away from home these days, Magnuson Park's off-leash area.  It's a city dog's paradise.

I followed this little Airdale around for awhile but never got to meet its parent.

Telekinesis are up on Spin.com as a SXSW "band to watch" with an image from our shoot.  They also have and exclusive stream of "I Saw Lightning", a song off of the new album which comes out later this month on Merge Records.  Bonus points if you can tell me which band member does triple duty with some bands on Barsuk.
