Gates-Etter Family

Happy belated Thanksgiving! I'm back from a stint in the woods with 13 friends and half as many dogs.  I left the photo taking to Robin this time and if he ever gets that Fiickr account he's been talking of we might all get to see them.

While Marie stuffed the turkey and Jamie brewed some apple brandy cider, I finished off some images from a family portrait session with Alison, KC, Helen & their mellow yellow Lab, Sadie, at Greenlake.

Frank & George

Frank & George joined me for a portrait session gifted by Catherine (the sweetest real estate agent in Seattle).  Their blue eyes and rosy cheeks made my job easy like Sunday morning.

Yancey Family

I spent a gorgeous fall morning with the Yancey family awhile back.  Their friends gifted them a portrait session and I'm honored they chose me for it.

Baby Ayelet and her new tooth.

After 2 quick setups at the house, we headed to Dahl Playfield in Ravenna for some fun.  The two oldest girls had great energy.  We jumped, swang on monkey bars and spun around so many times on the carousel that this old lady (me) almost tossed her cookies.

Frank & George - teaser

Quick teaser from my shoot with Frank & George yesterday.  So cute!

I've been giving mini photography lessons during the kids shoots lately to keep them interested.  Here's Frank having a peek.

Patterson Family Portraits

You've seen Nora in the Kids section and front page of photojj.com.  You've seen Bill and Suzanne with newborn Keane in the hospital.  The latest portrait session finally brings the family all together.  Even grandma joined in.

Nora and I had a ton of fun playing around.

She showed off her newly polished nails

and gave me her best pirate impression

The little rascal pulled out her camera and turned the tables around on me!

She did such a good job with her camera that I taught her how to take a photo with mine.  Nora took this one of her dad all by herself!

Great day

I had a fun session this morning with a family in the Wedgewood area.  Should have the images up in a handful of weeks but here's one of the three sisters that caught my eye while uploading to the mac. So cute!

Fresno revisited

This post is long overdue, and it's always my family that ends up waiting the longest for photos.  I flew down to Fresno for a weekend this summer to visit my parents and Megan, my best friend from high school who just had her second bambina.  I lived in Fresno for 4 years, from 89-93, and stole away back to NY every chance I got.  2 days after high school graduation I left for good but my parents weren't so lucky.  They stayed to see my sister through school and work until retirement.  With both out of the way they are finally prepping the house to sell and move back east.  I approach each visit knowing it may be the last for awhile.  Don't worry, Meg, I will travel anywhere for you.

Guess who's back, rub my back, rub my back

I'm back and still trying to catch up on sleep. Acupuncture & massage at the Union Center for Healing this afternoon should help speed the process along. The wedding was awesome. My first ever hurricane wedding (Hanna). The base to one of my flashes was broken by a flying tent wall but otherwise everything went smoothly. Sara, Matt, Jessica, Chris, Leslie, Hannah, Christy - thank you for treating me like a rock star. Come visit your new Seattle friend soon! On the way from NY to Rhode Island I stopped by my cousin's house in Connecticut to visit for a few hours and break up the drive. I arrived just in time to see her daughter Holly off the bus, fresh from her first week of kindergarten.

Baby Keane

I had the privilege of photographing little baby Keane in the hospital just hours after being born. What a treat!! He was so tiny and sleepy and soft. We have a family shoot scheduled for the beginning of August with his sister Nora, who is on the front page of photojj.com laughing up a storm. Good picture taking is in his genes!

New Addition

The Studerus family had a little delivery about 8 months ago and recently invited me over to photograph their new family. You met their sweet dog, Rigger, on Monday. Now meet their newest addition, Jillian:

Sweet Helen

Charlie

this little guy wasn't feeling so good the other day but let me grab a quick snap of him with his duckie before heading home.

drummer girl

I caught a private Cave Singers show at the Anne Bonney Sunday night. This sweet little girl was walking around and hopped up on Marty's drum kit. Dad handed her the sticks and she knew just what to do!
